I had thought Star Trek had ended its run for good. Yesterday, I found out inadvertently that an unofficial, fan-driven three-part miniseries, titled "Of Gods and Men" has been filmed with the participation of actors, scriptwriters and photographers from three ST series (the original ST, DS9 and Voyager).
A tribute to the 40 years of Star Trek, it will be a web-only download and its official release has been delayed a couple of times. The related site has extensive trailers whose sound coordination is poor... the Sturm und Drang quotient looks high in the clips I saw: Of Gods and Men

It looks interesting, to say the least. I agree that the sound coordination of the trailers isn't what it could be, and aside from that (from what I've seen by now, that is) it seems to include the reworking of quite a few elements that have come before, along with the generous amounts of high drama.
